Recent Roofing Work in Sittingbourne & Kent
I have been roofing across Sittingbourne, Swale, Medway, and North Kent for more than thirty years. When you ask me to inspect or replace your roof, I carry out the survey, price the job, and do the work on the scaffold myself—never handing your home over to a chain of subcontractors.
Below is a selection of recent pitched roof strip and retiles, GRP fibreglass flat roofs, Code 4 and Code 5 lead flashings, and lime mortar chimney repointing jobs completed within 20 miles of our base in Bapchild.
Completed Roofing Case Studies & Job Breakdowns
Every roof has its own set of problems—from perished bituminous 1F felt under older concrete tiles to salt-air wear on coastal ridges and spalled brickwork on shared chimney stacks. Click through our completed projects below to see what failed, how we stripped and repaired it, and the finished result.
What Goes Into Our Local Roof Replacements & Repairs
A roof can look neat from the pavement for a year or two even if shortcuts were taken underneath. Whether we are carrying out a full strip and retile in Sittingbourne or Kent peg tile repairs in Faversham, we do the underlying preparation properly so you do not have to call a roofer out again after the next winter gale.
Proper Underlay, Battens & Dry Fixings
Most leaks on older roofs happen because the original bitumen felt has rotted at the eaves, letting water pool behind the fascia. We strip back to the rafters, lay high-tensile breathable membrane, fix treated graded battens, and secure ridges with mechanical dry-fix kits that will not crack out in high winds off the Swale or Thames estuary.

Patching around a leaking chimney with tubbed sealant or flashband never lasts. We rake out perished mortar joints using dust-extraction grinders, repoint stacks with the right sand and cement or NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime mix, and dress new Code 4 or Code 5 milled lead soakers, step flashings, and valley troughs.

For extensions, garages, and dormers, we strip sodden decking down to the joists if needed, lay fresh OSB3 tongue-and-groove boarding, and install cold-applied seamless GRP fibreglass or multi-layer torch-on felt. We only lay flat roofs in dry conditions so the resin cures properly and bonds tight to the trims.
